Anderson's Birthday Party

Techinically it is not Anderson's Birthday until Wednesday, but since our families are HUGE, we have to have 2 parties. So, today we had the Vanderwalker's over at the park for lunch and cake. Tim and I (with 20 nieces and nephews) have seen a lot of 1 year olds poking at cake in front of them, and to be honest, weren't going to do it because it always seems to be a bust. But we gave in, and Anderson was not messing around. His entire arms were completely covered in frosting, it was everywhere and then he got it on a few other people who were sitting by him. We had to strip him down, then he crawled, frosting and all, into the dirt. It was a mess. I should have brought the hose. It was fun though. The Coombs' will come over on his actual birthday for ice cream.

Before and After

We have all been pretty sick the last couple of days but are starting to feel much better. We did manage to get Anderson's hair cut today. Sorry the before picture is on the bottom!

Happy Whoopie Cushion Easter

Tim was so excited to wear his Easter outfit. He tried it on the night before and showed me some good ole fashion JC Penney catalog poses! (He wants me to put that he really has seen this pose in a catalog before...it isn't his original creation)

Very Nice!
This was Anderson's second Easter shirt. Just as I'm buttoning the last button on his first one, he threw up on himself and my Easter outfit.

Anderson was chillin with the latest G-funk rapper....Meltdown! (That's my dad with a huge gold chain from the dollar store. The Easter Bunny loves the dollar store!)

So after the egg hunting and the traditional Coombs Family egg toss (which I think Tim and I won, or were a close second), we all sat around in a circle together reflecting on the true meaning of Easter...as each of us took a turn with the greatest Easter Basket gift yet...the whoopie cushion. My nephew Kale made each of us try it. And let's just say, Grandma Maxine definately took the cake. It was perfect and I still laugh when I think about it. It was like we were 5 years old, giggling after every time. It was so funny.

Projects Galore

Marci made me post pictures of all of the projects we have been doing around the house. I think for the most part we are DONE! Thank goodness because I might as well be sleeping with my sewing machine. We unfortunately don't have a covered patio, so the frame for this canopy was left here. It didn't have a cover, so we used a tarp and some painter's drop cloths to make this. This was one of the hardest projects ever. I'm so glad it's done.

This is our bedroom. I got the pillow fabric from wal-mart. The stripes were a valence that was on sale for $4 and the flower pillows are 2 napkins that were also $4. The throw was on clearance at Dillards for $12 (originally $49). Yes, I let whatever is on sale control the colors of my room. I don't mind. (maybe I should have just taken a picture of my reciepts...sorry)

We didn't like the old curtains so we took them down and made new ones.

These are the old ones. Sorry, I promise these are the last house pictures, because we are pretty much done! HOORAY! Now what do I do??

Two Thumbs Up

So they opened one of these stores by me and I went the first day and it was packed. I had to drive around for like 10 minutes to find a parking space. The other day, I went and tried to buy my groceries and use my $5 off coupon I got in the mail. Long story short, the register wasn't working so they had to re-scan everything. For my troubles, they gave me 2 additional coupons for a total of $15 off. Not bad. Great customer service. It is kind of like Sprouts, the stuff is very fresh but they don't have a ton of stuff. I like to get my meat and stuff there because it looks so much fresher than the regular store. And the prices are totally reasonable.

For our anniversary, we went to Bonefish Grill which was recommended by Tim's parents. It was really really good. The prices I would compare to Carraba's and there is a lot of fish and steak and all of it was really good. Even the dessert was so great. It is by Superstition Springs next to PF Changs and BJ's. I will definately go back.

4 years

Today is our wedding anniversary.

Don't we look excited as we pulled up to the temple? That is because we didn't know the disaster that lied ahead of us....our wedding/reception/honeymoon. Everything from Tim getting "let go" from his job the day before, to rained out reception, to grabbing the wrong bag on the way to the hotel (at least we had temple clothes), to spending my first night of my honeymoon sleeping on the floor next to the bathroom because I was throwing up like crazy, to fainting on our honeymoon, to Tim getting sick the next night on our honeymoon. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong. Those are just some of the highlights! We are still married though...surprisingly! (just kidding) Being married is the greatest!

I hate cars

Yesterday was the worst. We started out having to run a few errands, and enjoyed a nice breakfast while the oil got changed in the good old kia sephia (which has lasted me 8 years and has over 100,000 miles). Sure the inside is falling apart, the radio was stolen, and the dash lights don't work, but it runs. Well, they informed us of a few problems, which we had to drive across the valley to take it to the last place that worked on it, and it is the same. Then we had to get the oil changed in the other car, and were stranded, only to take a walk in some random neighborhood. A million errands later, and stressing about car stuff, I gave up. We are notorious for car trouble. The last car we had (it was Tim's when we met), we spent $8000 (that we didn't have) in TWO YEARS! I hate cars, I hate car mechanic places and I wish I could just ride a bike and strap Anderson to the back. By the way, don't mind the picture. I'm not sure what Anderson was doing to the dog's behind.

Do I or Don't I?

Anderson looks thrilled to take a picture with his mom. I have been thinking about cutting his hair and can't decide. He is 11 months old, and when it's wet, he has a tail in the back. But it is curly so it's deceiving. When it's dry, it goes over his ears, but the back somehow doesn't. Here it is dry.

Here it is wet. Any suggestions?
