It is getting rough around here. For the last week it has been at least 110 degrees and sometimes more. It's too hot to go anywhere, it's too hot to go swimming, and I feel like we are trapped in the house.
This is what happens when you are trapped all day in the house...
It is too freaking hot in Arizona. I've lived here my whole life and still hate it and for sure am not used to it! Get me out of here!!

Early Birthday Present

Tim got me an early birthday present on Overstock. The only digital camera we own we bought 4 1/2 years ago for $350 at Target with left over wedding Target gifts cards. Needless to say, the screen is like 1 inch by 1 inch and the camera is like the size of a walkman. The shutter on our old one was so slow, every picture was blurry, and by the time the flash was done, Anderson already had his eyes closed or had moved (as you can see in the top pictures). This one is way better. I love it already. These are some of the pictures from the new camera!

Anderson has discovered a new trick. Instead of going up the stairs, he can climb them on the outside. Lucky me. He's gotten to the second step before I grab him. This new found trick means it takes mom 2 hours to make a 30 minute dinner. My sister Kaci had her baby yesterday. Her name is Marley Burton, and she weighed 7 pounds 5 ounces. She has tons of hair like her other siblings and is so cute. We've already seen her twice. I didn't have my camera either time, but she is a Burton, that's for sure.

Dad's Day
What did we do at the Vanderwalker home for Father's Day? After a well prepared beef kabob and rice dinner, we watched a little TV. Tim was watching a show he DVRed called "Fullproof Equations for a Perfect Life" on the Science channel (not kidding) while I begged to watch Game 5 of the NBA Finals. Typical of us. We reached a compromise and watched both. Happy Fathers Day to everyone, especially my too smart for his own good husband.

I have decided that I pretty much am not going to listen/learn anything from church for a good 10-12 years until all of my kids are old enough to SIT STILL. I feel like I am wrestling Anderson all sacrament meeting. If I take him out, I go and sit on a chair at the end of the hall way to make him sit on my lap (so basically he screams for 10 minutes). Then I try again and head right back into sacrament meeting. I have tried practicing at home, I have tried snacks, toys, things that aren't toys that he would rather play with anyway. Yesterday I had a roll of tape in my primary bag and we even tried taping Anderson's mouth shut. Didn't work. I only have one kid and I already hate church with kids. The 2-5 pm time slot doesn't help either. I see the babies that just sit on their mom's lap and fall asleep and want to be held...seriously. One of the primary presidency came to my door to drop something off and said, "We are making a list of the kids who are going to come into nursery this year...". It took me a second to realize that included me because I actually have a kid (still something I forget). Then I had to pretend like I didn't know when he was going into nursery, like I had to calculate it (it's October 2nd and we've know since he was 5 months old). So, the countdown to October begins...I might make a paper chain.
