My sister emailed me the other day and reminded me that it was time to update...I forget now that we live away that this is the best way to keep everyone current on what is going on. The pictures are a bit backwards, but oh well. Jan 5th Ivy turned 2! I always feel so relieved after Christmas that the holidays are over, then I remember we have a birthday in Jan, Feb, anniversary in March, birthday in April, May and June. To celebrate, we went to the "Carnival Place," as the kids called it.
We played some video games and won some tickets...the worst part is the picking out what you are going to get with the tickets...it's a good 30 minute ordeal with Anderson. Each of the kids got to ride two rides. Luckily, we get discounts for being local (that's when you know you live in a tourist spot), and it was not busy at all. Ivy chose the "horsey" and the train.
We were freezing...I think the high was like 52.
There is a pond by the mini golf course with these cool colorful fish that you can feed. The kids love it.
Back in December, we enjoyed our first ever Niceville Christmas Parade! Last year we were at Disney World so we missed it. We could walk there from our house and the kids seriously scored more candy than Halloween! We are still eating it...or at least I am.
Andy waiting for the candy to come rolling in.Ivy was not messing around, she was dodging kids (and floats) to get whatever candy she could find.
I think Minnie got the most by far. She caught on real quick.
We have been doing this for almost 2 months now. She STILL asks for a chocolate most of the time. She has been doing really good....church is still touch and go, but that is normal for us. We have actually been diaper free for a couple months. This is a treat we haven't enjoyed for over 5 years. Too bad in April it will be back to square one :)
We met some friends at Bass Pro Shop to see Santa. This is truly the first time Andy has ever sat on Santa's lap in his life...
and even that took some encouragement from his friend Tanner. They kept bringing things to Santa and asking if they could get it for Christmas.
Christmas Eve we decided to follow the Vanderwalker Family tradition of going out to eat! Usually they go to Mexican, but let's be honest, Florida Mexican food just doesn't cut it sometimes. We have found one place that we will go, but it's definitely not the same. So we went for PF Changs.
I must say, this is our second Christmas by ourselves. And although I miss our family, not having to rush from place to place on holidays is soooooo nice. The kids play with their stuff and we hang out. We went to AZ for Thanksgiving and drove home....so we were content staying home and doing absolutely nothing.
Tim's mom made quilts for the kids for Christmas. She brought them with her in August when they came. Minnie was so excited that now she has a complete "Princess Bed"...I'm not sure where she came from :)
So, we are officially having a girl...after much debate and 3 ultrasounds. The first one our Dr. said he was 80% sure it was a boy. The second and third, he was definitely sure it was a girl. I am so glad we didn't tell Andy when we thought it might be a boy. He was sad, but is so good with his sisters that I told him he would love her so much. As of now, April 25 is the day (and it can't come soon enough).
