Yesterday we woke up at 4:00 am and flew to Orange County and went to Disneyland, then I flew home this morning. Tim had to stay a couple of days "on business" and will come home tomorrow night. We were only there a day and I was worried because the park closes early at 8:00 pm. Because it is the "Year of a Million Dreams", we were handed these passes that let us stay in the park after it closes. They take everyone that has them and corral them to a place in the park and have a DJ playing music and Mickey and Minnie come. We were in there until they make sure the park is clear and everyone else had left. Then, at 8:30, they release us and we have an extra hour after everyone else had left to ride whatever we wanted. It was so fun. It was crazy to look and see a like 5 people in the park. Each ride had like 3 people in front of us. Some of them we just got to stay on and go a second time. It was really cool. Only a handful of people get them (which is still a lot considering all of the people that go to Disneyland a day), so if you go...try to score them. It was cool. I love Disneyland

Things to Look Forward Too
1. This little booger is finally trying to walk. It's amazing how one day they just decide they want to do it. He isn't completely stable yet, and is it is way faster to crawl, but we are getting there.
2. We are going to Disneyland in a few days, without this booger. Tim and I are planning our route (just like Grandma taught us, Christa), and are so excited. I think we love it more than kids. I can't wait. I know I've posted this picture before but I love it. Sorry about the crotch shot...at least it's mine and not Tim's!

Go Suns
Playoff b-ball is serious business in the Coombs and Vanderwalker household. I am getting too stressed about the Suns. It is ridiculous. I HATE the Spurs. I'm sure some of you don't even know they are playing each other, I wish I didn't and didn't care. I even got Tim into the mix. He is just as stressed during the games as me! This picture I took last year. My friend and I got front row tickets to see a game. It was sooo fun.

Like Father Like Son
We gave Anderson ice cream for the first time the other day (I know, I know, call me crazy. I try to stick to most of the food recommendations!) He was not too happy when we took it away. The same thing happens when Tim gives him a sip of Dr. Pepper. I don't blame him for that one!

A little help here
So, this may sound kinda retarded, but I figured why not ask. Since Anderson is my first, I'm not exactly sure what kinds of things are best for him to do at this age. He is not a cuddly want to sit on Mom's lap kind of kid, and he is good at entertaining himself, but I want to try to play more with him and teach him more things. For all of you expert parents out there, what kinds of things do you do to play with your 1 year old?? He isn't walking yet and wants to go everywhere so it's hard to engage him for very long. Plus, he is not the greatest copier/immitator. Any suggestions?

I am having a jewelry party for Nicole Wynn at my house on Tuesday May 6th at 6:30. I know it's early, but I just wanted to put the date out there so you can all plan on it. Email me if you want an invite (kamivanderwalker@hotmail.com). Nicole does awesome stuff and it is definately quality. If anything, just come for the food and the night out! You can check out her jewelry blog if you click on her family's blog. Hope everyone can come.

I'm so excited and I just can't hide it
For some reason I was thinking about Jesse Spano singing that song on Saved By the Bell and it's been in my head ever since (hence the title). Anyway, Tim and I are going to Disneyland in April! Tim actually works on jobs in California out of the Irvine office, even though he is here in AZ. So, they are going to start sending him there every couple of months so he can be on the same page with everyone there. The Irvine office is like 15 minutes from Disneyland, so I am flying up too and we are going for the day. Then I'll fly home in the morning and Tim will stay for work. I can't wait. I know most parents get excited to take their kids to Disneyland, we get really excited to leave ours and go by ourselves! Tim's mom is watching Anderson for us. We decided we aren't taking any child with us unless they are tall enough to ride all of the rides. Crazy right?! We are strictly business when it comes to Disneyland.

First Birthday (for real)

I'm bored out of my mind
Anderson is asleep and I am avoiding mopping and am bored out of my mind. So, Marci tagged me last week and I'll know she'll start to give me crap if I don't do it, so here it is:
How did you meet your spouse: We met through friends at a open mic night in Mesa. Once we started hanging out, we figured out that we had hung out in 8th grade but neither of us remember each other. (Thanks to a certain someone we met at Sunsplash when we were 12...Christa my lips are sealed.)
Where did you go on your first date? Um, I think we went to see Lord of the Rings. We also went to the totally awesome Bazzill Basics Christmas Party (Boooo)
How long have you been together? 5 years.
Who eats more? Me, I told Tim he needs to eat at least 2 1/2 meals a day...not come home STARVING
Who said I love you first? Tim asked me if I love him (very sneaky), then collectively we decided we loved each other (not kidding). But no one actually said it until a week later.
Who is taller? Tim
Who sings better? I'd say the same. Tim knows his parts.
Who is smarter? Grade wise, me. Actual smartness, Tim for sure.
Who does the laundry? Me.
Who does the dishes? Me, although Tim did last night just on his own. I told him he was husband of the year.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? I sleep furthest from the door where ever we are.
Who pays the bills? Me, Tim has no idea.
Who mows the lawn? Tim. I’ve never mowed a lawn. Ever.
Who cooks dinner? Me, if that is what you want to call it.
Who drives when you are together? Honestly mostly me. I get car sick very easily. I would say he is a better driver. I'm sure Tim would agree.
Who is more stubborn? We are both pretty laid back. Probably me.
Who is the first to admit when they’re wrong? ME
Who’s parents do you see the most? We did live with mine for 9 months, but probably his.
Who kissed who first? He kissed me. He says on the cheek first but I have no recollection of that one.
Who proposed? Tim will tell you that I proposed twice. We had a time frame all picked out and I needed to get the big sealing room (we have huge families) and the good photographer. So I called and said "If it works out, can we get married on this day?" If you ask me, Tim propsed in the middle of the Nutcracker by slipping my ring on my finger. It's hard to see what you got in the dark! He planned to do it right when the ice princess in the ballet gets the diamond crown--yeah I had no idea.
Who is more sensitive? Honestly, we are both pretty insensitive but if I had to choose, me.
Who has more friends? Me probably. That is what happens when you live here forever.
Who has more siblings? Tim
Who wears the pants? Probably me, even though I'd prefer not too!
